These shallow fried Shishito peppers has a grassy pepper flavor with a toned down heat level. It is delicious served as an appetizer or combined in a salad tossed with a miso vinaigrette.
Ingredients:
10 Shishito peppers
2 eggs whisked well with salt and pepper
1/4 cup flour
oil for frying
Method:
Slit the Shishito peppers without cutting them in halve. Retain the stems. Slightly salt and pepper them. Then toss them in the flour, then dip them in the egg wash and again in the flour.
Fry them for about 3 to 4 minutes until
golden brown. Remove and transfer to a paper towel.
Add them to a salad or serve with soy sauce and serve as an appetizer.
