Sauteed Pear Served with Vanilla Ice Cream

A simple yet elegant dessert which can be made in minutes. The sweet and spicy combination is definitely a winner!


Ingredients:

1 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 Tbsp honey
2 ripe firm Bosc pears, peeled, halved and cored
1/4 tsp ground chipotle pepper
1 Tbsp lime juice
vanilla ice cream

Method:

Melt butter heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat. Lay pears cut side down and sprinkle the honey. Cook for 5 minutes. until pears begin to soften but still holds the shape.  Turn on the other side and cook for another 2 or 3 minutes. Stir in lime juice. When liquid starts to simmer, add the chipotle pepper. Swirl the pan around and cook for another 1 or 2 minuted. Remove from heat. 
Place a single scoop of your favorite ice cream , sprinkle with more honey and a dash of chipotle pepper and serve immediately.
