I wanted to celebrate my religious holiday, Diwali (Festival of Lights) today with Maamoul. These delightful cookies are popular in the Levantine countries like Cyprus, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Israel and Palestine. Muslims, Jews and the Christians in the Levantine countries make this cookie during their religious holidays; Ramadan, Eid, Easter and Hanukkah.
