Tomato Garlic Chutney




Tomato Garlic Ginger Chutney

Ingredients:
4 ripe tomatoes, chopped roughly
2 tbsp grated coconut
2 green chillis
1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
1 Tbsp chopped ginger
6 cloves of garlic, sliced1 1/2 tsps urad dal
1/2 tsp tamarind paste
Salt

Method:

Heat some oil in a saute pan. Add urad dal and fry unit golden in color. Then add the garlic, ginger, green chillies and saute until garlic is slightly cooked. Then add the coconut. After 2 or 3 minutes add the chopped tomatoes and tred chilli powder. Cook until tomatoes turn mushy.

Remove from heat. Add salt and tamarind paste. Let is cool slightly before grinding.

Add a little water to adjust the consistency.

Serve it with idli, dosas, parathas, yogurt rice...
