Lasagne Verdi

The term "lasagna" comes from the Greek word, "lasagnum," meaning dish or bowl. Lasagna also applies to the sheets of pasta used. Gourmet mushrooms, kale and spinach mixed with ricotta and Parmesan make a sumptuous filling for lasagna.
A lasagna recipe was featured in the first cookbook ever published in England, leading to an urban legend that the dish was formulated in the British Isles. The claim is dubious, in light of the much earlier Roman use of "lasanum".More on Lasagna: http://www.princeton.edu/~achaney/tmve/wiki100k/docs/Lasagna.html
