Southern Biscuit with parsley garlic butter


Ingredients:

7 ozs all-purpose flour
3 ozs cake flour
1 stick cold butter                                                                              
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
3/4  whipping cream

Method:

Preheat oven 400 degrees F.

Sift flour with baking powder salt, garlic powder and place it in a food processor.
Add the grated cheese and chives and process for 30 second. Then add the cubed chilled butter pulse about 5 or 6 times to break the butter into small chunks. The add the cream to combine.

Remove dough onto a cool counter. Squeeze and shape dough into rectangle quickly about 3/4 inch thick. The dough should remain cold. Cut biscuits using biscuit cutter.

Place biscuit 1-inch apart and bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375 degrees and bake another 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown.

                                                                         
For brushing:
3 Tbsp butter
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp garlic powder

Melt the butter, then add the parsley, salt, garlic and stir to combine. Brush this mixture on the biscuit while still hot. Serve the biscuit warm.
